Recovering from a fifth-place standing after the first day of competition, the UNF swimming and diving team finished in third place out of eight teams at the Davidson Invitational Nov. 23.
Davidson College finished first with 786.5 points.
The Ospreys capped a second-day rally with a second place finish in the 4 by 100-meter freestyle relay with a time of 3 minutes, 41.81 seconds, giving them 34 more points to finish at 474 points for the tournament.
UNF finished with 13 season-best times from the meet.
Sophomore freestyle swimmer Lyn Ann Nelson took third place in the 500-free and finished second place in the 200-free with a season best 1:53.09.
Senior diver Emily Eisenhower gained 46 points for the Ospreys after placing first in the 1-meter competition with a score of 239.90 and finished third in the 3-meter competition with a score of 225.65.
UNF will go into a period of training over the winter break in preparation for its second half of the season. The team’s next meet is Jan. 3 at the UNF Aquatics Center against UNC Wilmington.
