Two goals from Kendra Hoffman and Thais Rheiss were just enough as the UNF Women’s Soccer team showed a lockdown effort in a 2-0 win against Coastal Carolina.

Khorri Newton
UNF Women’s Soccer defeated Coastal Carolina, 2-0.

The Ospreys began the game by keeping the ball on their opponents side of the field as the Chanticleers only recorded four shots in the first half. Hoffman gave the Ospreys a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute with the first goal of the game as UNF headed off the field with lead at the end of the first half.

Just after the second half began, Rheiss found the net in the 56th minute with an assist from Sydney Hauth to increase the Ospreys lead to 2-0. The back line had a stellar performance in the second half as they only allowed two shots.

The Chanticleers couldn’t find a way to score as the Ospreys earned their first win of the season in Eric Faulconer’s first year as Head Coach of the squad.

UNF stays on the road and will take on La Salle in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Sunday, August 25 at noon.
