Tracking Dorian: Ron DeSantis declares state of emergency
August 28, 2019
Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency as Category 1 hurricane Dorian approaches Florida. It is anticipated the hurricane will be a Category 3 when it makes landfall in the state.
As Hurricane #Dorian approaches, I’ve declared a state of emergency to ensure local governments and emergency management agencies have ample time, resources and flexibility to get prepared. Please continue to follow local reports and @FLSERT for updates. https://t.co/FyQM6wd8er

At this time, the entire state of Florida is within the hurricane’s projected cone, meaning that you can expect high winds and heavy rain throughout the state. Projected landfall of the storm has it arriving early next week, likely spoiling the Labor Day weekend.
