“A Cool Place to Live”: new Beaches Museum exhibit upcoming

Darvin Nelson, Reporter

The Beaches Museum’s mission is “to preserve and share the distinct history and culture of the Beaches area.”

With that being said, the Beaches Museum is opening a new exhibit called “Neptune Beach: A Cool Place To Live” that will feature photographs, artifacts, and personal items that tell stories of local people and places. The exhibit opens Friday, November 15 at 6 p.m. and will be receding with the tide on March 1, 2020.

Since the 1880s, people have been moving to Neptune Beach for the beach lifestyle and to pursue their businesses. The exhibit captures the stories of successful and failed attempts to develop Neptune Beach. Narratives of local landmarks will also be shown. Don’t miss the chance to explore this historical time capsule filled with Floridian culture.

The museum is located at 381 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville Beach. It is free for museum members and a suggested $5 donation for non-members.
