Osprey Productions has booked five local bands for the first OZ Music Festival, March 5-6. Sidereal, Weekend Atlas, Aurora, Fort Stories, and Fjord Explorer confirmed that they will be performing as supporting bands at the event. OP announced Sublime with Rome and Mac Miller earlier this month as the headliners for the two day music festival.
UNF students came together at the Student Union to honor the memory of fellow student Garth Sangree. Garth's father, Mark Sangree, spoke at the vigil that was hosted by Baptist Collegiate Ministries.
"Florida's Mountains" is a photography collection by UNF professor Alexander Diaz. The photographs look like they are of mountains but are actually of dirt mounds at construction sites.
Five UNF Art and Design students won awards at the 2015 Student Juried Annual Exhibition. The exhibit will be on display until Feb. 25 at the UNF Gallery of Art.
Osprey Productions is expected to announce Mac Miller as the second headliner for the OZ Music Festival. The first headliner, Sublime with Rome, was announced Jan. 16. The festival will take place March 5-6 on the auxiliary field behind the Student Wellness Complex.
"The Gay Moralist" Dr. John Corvino uses logic, humor and personal experience to scrutinize frequent arguments against homosexuality since 1992. Corvino will give two public lectures at the UNF University Center on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.
Weekend Atlas, a seven-member band with unique folk flare and a roots rock influence, released their self-titled album Jan. 20 after their record release show at Freebird Live on Jan. 17.
Tracy Darakis, UNF alumna with a degree in elementary education, spent Week 3 on The Bachelor shucking corn and attending a cocktail party and pool party. However, at the end of the episode, she did not receive a rose from Chris Soules.
