A body was discovered on the beach near Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve. St. Johns Sheriff's Office positively identified the found body as Garth Sangree.

Garth Sangree is remembered as more than just a headline. Friends remember him as a passionate adventurer who sought out ways to challenge his abilities. He has been missing since Jan. 24. Neither Sangree nor his kayak have been recovered.

UNF remembers Garth Sangree at a memorial service celebrating his life

Garth Sangree's memorial service was held today in the Robinson Theater at UNF. Over 350 people attended to remember a short life well lived. Friends remember Sangree as having a compassionate nature.
