The UNF Arena parking garage was outfitted with four new speed bumps and is soon to be equipped with flashing pedestrian signs, costing the school $19,000.
According to George Androuin, director at the Andrew W. Herbert University Center, the cost of the speed bumps and signals totals approximately $19,000. This addition was brought on by two reports of vehicles quickly exiting the garage. No speeding tickets or car accidents have been reported in the garage.
Until the spring semester, drivers were able to enter and exit the Arena parking garage, only having to pass the speed bump at the entrance. Three traffic collisions were reported to UNFPD in the garage in the last year. No speeding tickets have been given in the parking garage.
