Late this morning, the fire alarm rang in the Brooks College of Health Building prompting students and faculty to evacuate. A plumbing leak in a classroom located in Building 39A caused a spark in a water heater, causing the fire alarm to go off. UNF says that there is water damage in the building’s auditorium, room 1028. It is currently being cleaned up by Physical Facilities.
A UNFPD Chief Frank Mackesy said, “Physical Facilities will have this place back and running in no time at all.”
Students and faculty are allowed back into the building, and students are advised to check with their professors if they are scheduled to have class in room 1028.
