At around 9 a.m. most buildings in the core of campus lost power, save for emergency lighting. Power was restored by 11 a.m. and officials were doing building-by-building checks to ensure the power had come back on as expected.

Spinnaker reached out to JEA and spokeswoman Gerri Boyce said that crews responded to campus and found that a fuse had blown in an electrical cabinet. The fuse was replaced, and service was restored.

Some students reached out to Spinnaker via social media and told us how classes were responding.

Peripheral campus buildings such as Hick’s Hall, Alumni Hall, and the Wellness Center were not affected by the outage.
