Osprey softball fell to in-state rival UCF 7-2 March 2 at the UNF Softball Complex.
UCF scored the first runs in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead over the Ospreys. North Florida responded in the third inning when Shelly Duncan hit a two-out single to right-center, driving home two runs.
In the sixth inning, the Ospreys had a chance to score with runners on the bases but couldn’t drive them home.
The Knights tacked on three more runs in the seventh inning, carrying them to victory.
The Ospreys will be in Orlando this weekend for a four-game tournament at UCF. .
