Harris was one of 26 athletes competing in the men’s high jump competition, and placed in a five-way tie for tenth place with a jump of 2.14 meters. His jump, despite matching the height of first-place leaders, came on his third attempt rather than his first—resulting in the lower ranking.

The men’s high jump final will be held on July 10, at 6 p.m. EDT. Harris will qualify for Rio if he places in the top three.
