The University of Florida Gators, ranked number three in the nation, took a bite out of the Ospreys, 5-1 as they handed them their second loss in a row on April 5 .

One Gator had an outstanding performance against the Ospreys, freshman outfielder Amanda Lorenz.

The Gators got things going quickly with a homerun from Lorenz in the first inning.

Ready to swing, Lorenz hit her second homerun of the day in the second inning. With a runner on base, Lorenz was able to push the Gators lead to 4-0 by the end of the second.

By the end of the third, the Gators had pushed their lead to 5-0 after Lorenz had a bases-loaded walk.

After neither team was able to pick up a run in the fourth, the Ospreys fought back in the fifth.

Freshman Mary Rodriguez smacked a double the left field bringing home junior Ashley Niesman. This would be the Ospreys lone run of the evening.

Doing their best to keep the Gators under control, the Ospreys were able to limit them to just seven hits in the game.

Sophomore Jenna Brownell leads her team in bases reached with a record of 12 straight games.

The Ospreys(21-16 overall, 2-1 ASUN) are back in ASUN play on April 8 as they face the Kennesaw State Owls in a double-header at the UNF Softball Complex.
