Between dodging allergies or just attempting to consume something green, many college students know all too well the struggle of healthy eating on a campus where the meal options are always enticing, but not always so nutritious.

Luckily, UNF Dining Services is offering a new means of arming students with nutritional knowledge through their website, The UNF Nutrition Services blog.

We hope the blog will help engage students since it is written by students, for students and encourage them to make nutritious choices on-campus & beyond,” said Dennis Negrin, the Dining Services Director of Marketing and Guest Experience.

This semester , the blog decided to revamp itself and partner with UNF Dining Services and Chartwells in order to better promote health knowledge and resources for UNF students, faculty and staff.

“Spotlight” posts aim to shed light on the campus locations that offer well-rounded snacks and meal alternatives, while others teach you how to make Insta-worthy smoothie bowls or just how to make the most of your time at the Wellness Center. Between recipes, Youtube videos, traditional blog posts, and various types of nutritional counseling, there’s something for everyone.

“We have a diverse range of options on campus and increasing awareness [and] utilization of our healthy options is a win-win for everyone,” Negrin said.

Writers for the blog include senior nutrition students, dietitian assistants and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Yemila Lowry.

Students can subscribe to the UNF Nutrition Services Blog for regular updates and tips on healthy living.
