Nov. 3 – Lost property (Building 39) – A UNF employee reported a lost Dell laptop computer missing.
He believed the computer was accidentally misplaced by faculty who are allowed to check out equipment for meetings.
Nov. 3 – Criminal mischief (Building 14) – A 2-foot long crack in the column wall and an indentation in the wall were found in the male restroom early Friday morning.
The damage appeared to be caused by a hit from a fist which knocked the plaster off of the edges of the column wall. There are no witnesses of the vandalism.
Nov. 3 – Drug paraphernalia (Building W) – UPD was dispatched to a fire alarm. When police officers arrived to the scene, they smelled a strong odor of burning marijuana while speaking to the residents. At first, the two students explained they burned food in the microwave.
But, shortly after that they admitted to smoking a joint and throwing the bong and the grinder out the window. Following a search, two baggies of marijuana, an electronic scale and the bong with residue in it were found.
Both students were referred to Student Conduct.
Nov. 3 – Petty theft (Building 51) – A computer module was discovered missing when the printer to which it was connected failed to operate.
The LaserJet printer was located in a common area with public access on the second floor of Building 51.
Nov. 6 – Injured person (Building 41) – A Police Communications Officer who had difficulty breathing was transported to St. Lukes Hospital.
Nov. 6 – Sick Person (Building 14) – A sick student was called Jacksonville Rescue 28 after complaining of stomach pains and chills. She was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.
Nov. 6 – Petty Theft (Building 44) – Parking Services discovered a fraudulent parking decal hanging inside a vehicle.
A boot was placed on the vehicle whose owner said she purchased the decal from another person on campus. She was issued a notice to appear.
Nov. 7 – Grand theft (Building 46) – A student’s personal belongings were stolen from her locker at Hodges Stadium.
When the student returned from lunch, she found her clothes, shoes and other belongings missing. No possible fingerprints were recovered.
Nov. 7 – Criminal Mischief (Building V) – UPD was dispatched to Osprey Cove in reference to criminal mischief.
The area of smoker’s tables had two messages: “Obama dies in 09” and “Nick sucks” and a marijuana leaf next to it.
Nov. 10 – Drugs (Building S) – While walking with resident assistants, a UPD officer noticed a strong odor of burning marijuana.
When he knocked on the door, he could see someone look through the peep hole, but did not open the door.
After they entered the dorm, a window was open.
