The UNF Men’s Soccer team battled it out on the road and key goals by Junior Mikey Connell and Senior AJ Williams led the Ospreys to a 2-1 win over the College of Charleston, their first win of the season.

It was an even match throughout the night of Sept. 19 as both teams played hard defense. In the seventeenth minute, Connell fired a goal assisted by Freshman Nathan Harte for the first goal of the match.

The Cougars countered in the thirty-seventh minute when Kevin Harris deposited a goal from a corner kick that went off the post.

Williams was the hero for the Ospreys as Connell fed him a dime inside the box for a goal in the eighty-fifth minute, which ended up being the final goal of the match.

Connell was the marquee player of the game as he recorded three shots, two on goal, and dished out an assist that led to the match winning goal. Connell currently leads the team in goals scored with three.

The Ospreys return home on Sunday, Sept. 23 to play Florida International University at seven p.m.
