Senior Nick Morken talked to the Spinnaker on the team’s effort at the Conference Championship.

“As a team, we did exactly what we wanted to do. I’m usually one of the top guys and finished fourth on the team in that race. I’ve said for years that if I’m the fourth guy on this team, then we’re going to be really good,” Morken said.

The Women’s team placed third in the ASUN Championship with a standout performance to also advance to Regionals.

“I thought they ran great for how young they are. It’s awesome to see for the future,” Morken said.

Morken talked about the team’s progression from the beginning of the season and how they are now.

“I feel like we’re getting into our best running right now. We had a really good summer to train and the speed keeps picking up while we continue to get better,” Morken said.

When preparing for Regionals, Morken discussed not much change in their preparation other than what they’ve done this season.

“We’re not going to change that much. I think we’re in really good shape right now and we’re going to keep cutting down the mileage to get us peaked for the right race,” Morken said.

The meet starts at 9:30 a.m. in Tallahassee and UNF will compete to advance to the NCAA National Championships.
