Tracking Dorian: hurricane may be a Category 2 when it hits Jax
August 30, 2019
According to News4Jax’s 5 p.m. advisory, it’s anticipated that Dorian may be a Category 2 hurricane when it hits Jax on Tuesday.
The location of where the storm will make landfall has also shifted further north to Melbourne, meaning that it will take longer for it to arrive but also put it much closer to Jacksonville than previously thought.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Dorian poses “life-threatening storm surges and devastating hurricane-force winds.” The storm’s continually shifting path makes it unpredictable.
