Ospreys outplay winless Dolphins in 2-1 battle

The Ospreys defeated the Jacksonville University Dolphins, 2-1, on Senior Night in their last home game of the regular season with goals by Thais Reiss and Lisa Cedeno.

After a scoreless first half, Reiss wedged her way between Jacksonville’s defenders and scored in the 52nd minute on an assist by Carmel Oliveira.
One minute later, the Dolphins responded with a lower left goal by Olivia Abdallah.
However, the Ospreys were able to climb back on top in the 63nd minute when Cedeno scored on an assist by Reiss.
The Dolphins were ultimately unable to answer as the Ospreys’ defense held them to only two shots on goal.
This win brings UNF’s record to 11-5-2 (5-2-1 ASUN) and drops JU’s record to 0-13-3 (0-7-1 ASUN).
The team’s next match will be in the ASUN Quarterfinals on Friday, November 1 against Kennesaw State.
