Student Threatened on Campus

A UNF student has notified the University Police Department of an incident on campus. According to the student, she was walking along Alumni Drive towards the Crossings residence hall (Building R) today, October 21, 2011, at approximately 12:05 p.m. when she noticed an older mid-sized, four-door gold or tan car sitting near a bike rack. The student told the UPD that a white male in his 30s with short brown hair wearing a light-colored T-shirt asked her if she would like to make $100. After he received no response, he told her to get into the car and he would give her $100 for a sexual act. The student proceed to head towards the Crossings and the male followed in his car. She then entered the Crossings and the male left the scene in his vehicle. The UPD is treating this incident as a threat because the solicitation could have led to endangerment or other harm to the student.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the University Police Department at (904) 620-2800.
