Baseball signs three from the state of Florida
The UNF men’s baseball team added three more players to its recruiting class this past week. The team announced Nov.10 the signing of third baseman/pitcher Corbin Olmsteas. Olmsteas is a 6-foot-3, 210 pound right hander who plays at Thomas Jefferson High School. The team announced two signings Nov. 14 as they inked pitcher Nick Miller and shortstop/second baseman Patrick Ervin. Ervin is a 6-foot,175 pound righty from Pace High School and Miller is a 6-6 205 right hander who is currently enrolled at Gulf Coast Community College.
Basketball announces second signing for the 2012 class
Men’s basketball head coach Matthew Driscoll announced Nov. 15 that local standout Beau Beech will be playing for UNF in the 2012-2013 season. Beech is a 6-foot-6 guard from Ponte Vedra High School. Beech was named to the All-County first team last season as he averaged 20.5 points and 10.4 rebounds. Beech will look to add some much needed rebounding help for the Ospreys.
Fabiola Josil gains A-Sun recognition
UNF point guard Fabiola Josil was named Atlantic Sun newcomer of the week for her impressive play Nov.11 against Ole Miss. In just 33 minutes of play, Josil scored nine points, led the team with eight assists and nabbed seven rebounds.
