According to emails between Osprey Productions’ director and Adam Tobey of Concert Ideas, rapper Mac Miller could potentially be announced to headline OP’s first ever OZ Music Fest. A picture on OP’s Instagram alluded to the pending announcement. The picture, depicting a fist knocking, might allude to Miller’s song “Knock, Knock” from his album K.I.D.S. Miller’s name was also found listed among other potential headliners for the music festival in an email. The two-day festival will take place March 5-6 on the auxiliary field behind the Student Wellness Complex.
OP announced Sublime with Rome as a headliner Jan. 16. Twelve other bands have yet to be announced.
Each headliner will be playing separate days over the two-day festival, although which days the bands will play is yet to be announced.
After signing a record deal with Rostrum Records in 2010, Mac Miller became widely known for his freestyle technique. Born Malcolm McCormick in 1992, Miller is a self-taught musician whose alter egos include, Delusional Thomas, Larry Fisherman and Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival.
