Students who were evacuated to The Fountains Oct. 6 are allowed to return to their residence halls, a Hurricane Matthew update posted to myWings said.

Four shuttles will take the approximately 270 residents back to their dorms starting at 10 a.m. The update said students living on-campus who took shelter elsewhere can return at noon.

Although the campus has power, there are many downed trees, branches and other debris. In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, students are being asked to avoid the central campus in order for staff to clear the area.

The Osprey Cafe will resume service at 10:30 a.m and return to regular business hours. The shuttle service will return to its normal schedule.

It’s undetermined if classes will resume on Monday as planned.

Spinnaker will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
