Joey Petronio named A-Sun Men’s Golf Player of the Week

Senior UNF golfer Joey Petronio won the A-Sun Men’s Golf Player of the Week award for the third time this season.

The Orlando native shot 220 (73-72-75) at this week’s Sea Best Invitational at TPC Sawgrass. Petronio had the lowest score of any A-Sun golfer at the tournament. His performance marks the fifth top-25 showing of the season.

Petronio is the Ospreys’ number two golfer with a 71.11 stroke average, but he’s been the top performer for the team in four of six tournaments this season. This is the fourth time in Petronio’s career that he has won this award.

The men’s golf team’s next tournament is the SunTrust Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., Feb. 14-15.
