Police Beat week of Oct. 8

Oct. 01 Theft (Lot 10) – An officer met with a victim who said his permit had been stolen. He said he noticed parking citations on his window then noticed his missing permit. The officer observed small amounts of glue forming the word VOID.

Oct. 01 Theft (Osprey Cove) – An officer met with a complainant who said his skateboard was missing. The complainant said he left his skateboard in a bush outside Osprey Hall because he did not have a lock. The subject said he returned 30 minutes later and could not find the bicycle. He said there was one around at the time. There are no current suspects.

Oct. 03 Marijuana Possession (Osprey Landing) – An officer responded to an RA’s complaint of a marijuana odor coming from one of the rooms. He made contact with the suspected resident, who admitted to possessing and smoking marijuana. The students gave the officer a prescription pill bottle containing marijuana, a glass pipe and a shaving cream can used to store marijuana. Both students were given a Notice to Appear.

Oct. 03 Theft (Osprey Dining Facility) – An officer met with a victim who said her skateboard had gone missing from the outside rack. She said she was away from the skateboard for 10 minutes. There are no current suspects.

Oct. 03 Criminal Mischief (UPD) – An officer met with a complainant who said someone carved a word into his driver’s door while it was parked in Garage 38. The word was redacted in subsequent police report. The subject said when he parked, another dark vehicle with dark tint attempted to park in the same spot. He said he could not see the driver. The officer did not make an attempt to obtain fingerprints because it did not appear the suspect touched the vehicle in the damaged area. There are no current suspects.

Oct. 04 Injured Person (Wellness Complex) – An officer responded to an injured person. The subject said he started the treadmill and when he stepped on, it threw him back. The subject said he thought it was on too fast. He said his back and neck hurt. He had lacerations on his elbows, knees and nose. Emergency Rescue transported the subject to the hospital.
