Sixteen labradors, golden retrievers, and golden labradors came to the UNF game room on Monday to help students relax between final exams. The Canine Companions for Independence brought these well-trained dogs to share their calm, affectionate personalities with college students. Lee Hoyt, a volunteer puppy raiser and leader of the local CCI members, said that these dogs are trained to help people in wheelchairs, hearing disabilities, or therapy in hospices or hospitals.
