The UNF women’s basketball team won its second game of the season 62-57 against Edward Waters College on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The game was held on Elementary School Day, when local elementary schools were allowed to visit UNF and watch the team play. The Ospreys played in front of a crowd of 2,377 elementary students and adults.
“It was an awesome crowd today,” Tappmeyer said. “Edward Waters played a very solid game. There’s a lot of stuff we can work on and build from, but it is a win.”
UNF sophomore Bailey Florin had her second record game this season, scoring 19 points for the game. Junior Caitlyn Spane had a double-double for the game.
“Bailey had another outstanding game and Caitlyn did a great job on the offensive glass,” Tappmeyer said.
The UNF women’s basketball team will begin its six-game road swing this Friday, Nov. 21. The Ospreys will travel to Coral Gables to play Miami at the BankUnited Center. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm.
