UPDATE – 7/28/2015 at 4:03 p.m.
Rachel Szymanski, police communications officer for UNFPD, confirmed the alarm was related to construction inside the Student Union and that no one was injured.
A fire alarm in the west wing of the Student Union went off today around 1:20 p.m. and everyone in had to evacuate the building*.
After approximately five minutes, the alarms shut off and UNF Administration advised people to return to their “normal activities.”
The most likely cause of the alarm was the construction in progress in the cafeteria of the Student Union, said William Parker, a production specialist for the Student Union.
