Donald Trump, Republican front-runner in the 2016 presidential race, is having a campaign rally at the Jacksonville Landing this Saturday, Oct. 24, according to a campaign representative.
According to a poll recently conducted by UNF, Trump leads the Republican primary race with 21.7 percent of the votes. Of those surveyed, 52.3 percent said they view Trump favorably.
During the previous presidential election, UNF hosted a GOP debate, and candidates Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul took the stage in the Lazzara Performance Hall.
Trump will be in Miami this Friday before he makes his campaign stop in Jacksonville on Saturday.
The doors to the Jacksonville Landing open at 10 a.m., and the rally begins at 12 p.m. The event is free, but attendees must register here.
