UNF Health Promotion hopes Ospreys get some pep in their step for “Healthy Campus Week,” with 17 health-oriented activities scheduled on campus from Sept. 17 to Sept. 23.
“The overall goal of Healthy Campus Week is to bring an awareness and promote the health and wellness of the student body through our programming and services,” said Ashley Ballard, assistant director of Health Promotion.
While this entire week is devoted to students’ health, Health Promotion focuses on the subject year-round. This focus was recently recognized with a mention on Greatist.com’s list of 26 Healthiest Colleges in the U.S.
Ballard highlighted a few of the notable events going on this week to promote wellness on campus:
Health Promotion will partner with Market Days on Wednesday for the “So Fresh, So Clean” Health Fair to promote a healthy lifestyle. Ballard said the fair will have live yoga demonstrations, health vendors and a DJ.
To promote mental health issues, Health Promotion has teamed up with Student Affairs to screen Pixar’s 2015 hit Inside Out Thursday at 6 p.m in the Student Union Auditorium.
Then there’s Find Your Light Yoga (night yoga with glow paint) Thursday on the Cowell Amphitheater lawn at 9 p.m, which Ballard said will be “great for mental and physical health.”
Ballard added that the Instagram users deemed “most active” using the #UNFhealthyosprey hashtag will be entered into a raffle for a $100 Target gift card.
