June 1 is David Szymanski’s first day as UNF President and he kicked it off with message to students and faculty at UNF.

Szymanski started off his first day by sending out a osprey edition special update that revealed his excitement and determination for the beginning of his presidency.

In his message he explains some goals he wants to accomplish during his presidency. These include “leading with respect” and encouraging “research, creativity and service among our faculty and student body.”   

He also invited students to come and visit him at his office between 1 and 5 p.m. for a one-on-one meet and greet.  

Szymanski ended his message with excitement for the future, stating “It’s a great privilege and an inspiring time to be here at the University of North Florida, and I look forward to working with each of you in the days ahead.”
