Women’s Soccer extends win streak to five games, defeat Webber 9-0

The Women’s Soccer team has been on fire lately, winning four straight looking for number five against Webber International University on Thursday night of Sept. 13. The Ospreys capitalized and dominated by scoring nine goals including seven in the second half.  

Freshman Midfielder Kendra Hoffman scored the first goal of the match in the 14th minute, assisted by Sophomore Midfielder Thais Reiss.

“We lead as a team together, our mindset has been goal oriented and we practice always at 100 percent,” Hoffman said.

Freshman Defender JJ Bryant scored in the 17th minute, assisted by Hoffman, who also scored a second goal in the 48th minute, assisted by Freshman Forward Julia Martin.

Reiss scored in the 52nd minute, assisted by Redshirt Freshman Forward Hollyn Knight.

Finally, Redshirt Sophomore Lisa Cedeno scored in the 55th minute, assisted by Reiss. The UNF substitutes scored four goals as well.

The back line was lights out as the they didn’t let a shot go off from the Webber team.The Ospreys also finished with a total of 39 shots.  

“We have a hard conference schedule but we can do well and beat other teams,” Reiss said.

UNF Women’s Soccer starts conference play next week Friday Sept. 21 at home against Stetson University at 7 p.m.
