October 7, 2018
Tropical Storm Michael is expected to become a hurricane mid-week, according to the National Hurricane Center. To prepare for the expected hurricane on the west coast, Governor Rick Scott declared for a state of emergency in the Florida Panhandle counties Sunday morning.
Michael is expected to turn into a hurricane on the Gulf Coast Monday night or Tuesday, the NHC 4 p.m. discussion said. Winds are expected to hit the Jacksonville area around between Tuesday and Wednesday evening, according to the NHC.

Residents in the Florida Panhandle should prepare for storm surges and should monitor the storm.
