NAS JAX hosts an airshow this weekend

This weekend, on Oct. 27 and 28, Jacksonville will be hosting its annual NAS JAX Air Show at Jacksonville’s Naval Air Base. The event opens at 9 a.m., and gates open at 10 a.m. At this event, you can enjoy seeing a wide variety of performers, including E-Team Skydivers doing the National Anthem Flag Jump, and Jacksonville’s own Blue Angels.

There will also be food-and-beverage stands. For younger guests there will be an obstacle course and free face painting at the Kids Zone, all for no admission or parking fees.
For the food and beverage stands, only cash will be accepted. There will be 2 ATMs in case you need to make a withdrawal.

There are quite a few things to note that won’t be allowed at the air show. Coolers, cooking grills, pop-up tents, large sun umbrellas, backpacks, pets, kites, balloons, drones, fireworks, radio devices, and weapons are all prohibited. All bags are limited to be only as large as 8-by-10 inches.

The show is expecting at least 300,000 visitors, and traffic delays could be up to two hours according to the show’s official website. It would benefit you to be there before the gates open, to avoid this traffic as best you can.
