Ashley Moody elected Florida’s Attorney General
November 6, 2018
Floridian voters could finally release the breath they had been collectively holding on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 6 when it was announced that Ashley Moody was elected as the state’s new Attorney General.
The Tampa lawyer was pitted against fellow Tampa lawyer Sean Shaw in the midterm election, though the Republican caught voters’ approval following her history as a judge, lawyer, and federal prosecutor.
While both candidates maintained a focus on the current opioid crisis in their respective campaigns, Moody promised to combat violence against law enforcement as well as protect religious freedom and gun rights. Moody also wants to take on more active judges and is an active supporter of President Donald Trump.
