Republican candidate Clay Yarborough was re-elected in District 12 of the Florida House of Representatives.

Yarborough graduated from UNF with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2016. So far during his time in office, he has served on the committee for Public Integrity and Ethics.

Yarborough’s biggest policy goals revolve around crime and education. According to his campaign website, he supports making schools safer with “school hardening measures,” and establishing mental health programs to better identify and treat those who may be driven to crime by mental disorders.

As a member of the Florida House of Representatives, Yarborough will vote on bills that affect public policy matters, state spending levels, raising and lowering taxes, and upholding or overriding gubernatorial vetoes.
