UNF alum files to run for Mayor of Jacksonville

Lianna Norman, News Editor

Incumbent Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry will be facing stiff competition this coming Spring. Anna Brosche is a Jacksonville City Council member and Duval county native whose alma mater is none other than UNF.

According to Florida Politics’ website, Brosche was seen at the Duval Supervisor of Elections office filing the paperwork to run in the race for Mayor.

Brosche has served on the City Council since 2015, and served as council president. She has also held positions with Jacksonville Women’s Network, Women’s Giving Alliance, Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2009 and JAX Chamber Foundation Political Leadership Institute Class of 2010.

Brosche has also served on the Board of Directors for both the University of North Florida Foundation and University of North Florida Coggin College of Business Alumni Chapter.

Brosche and Curry’s race has already started strong with clashes between the two campaigns. Curry’s campaign had already launched a negative ad about Brosche before she even filed to run.

As March approaches, all eyes are on the Curry-Brosche rivalry that started long before she filed for the race.
