UNF’s Thomas G. Carpenter Library is a “no potato zone”
November 7, 2019
Want fries with that?
It appears an Osprey forgot their cooked sweet potato in a University of North Florida Bookstore vending machine. The Thomas G. Carpenter Library was a good sport about it though, posting to Facebook and Twitter the bemusing — yet puzzling — discovery.
Attention, Ospreys! Did you leave a cooked sweet potato in our @UNFBookstore vending machine? If so, unfortunately we had to toss it. In future we recommend a better storage location, more suited for potatoes. 😂 pic.twitter.com/RptEEfSB8F

In an official statement from the Library provided by the University, the Library shared:
“Someone stuck a cooked sweet potato in the Library’s vending machine. No explanation, no reason.”
Baked sweet potatoes were among the Osprey Cafe’s menu items on Wednesday, November 6, so it stands to reason that cooked sweet potato might have been in the vending machine for a while.
