The UNF men’s soccer team lost to Stetson Oct. 28, the team’s senior night. The team honored its only two seniors, Julian Botella and Enrique Haeussler, before the game.
During the game, UNF could only muster up two shots on goal compared to Stetson’s four. Each team recorded two saves on the night.
Stetson’s Joakim Helland put the Hatters on the scoreboard only a minute into the match. In the 30th minute, Helland scored his second goal of the night.
UNF could not take a bite out of the lead during the rest of game and lost 2-0.
The team ended its season with a loss to Florida Gulf Coast Oct. 30.
The Ospreys registered four shots on goal in the match while FGCU took 12 shots, with six on goal.
FGCU was the first team to score, getting on the board in the fourth minute. After halftime, it increased its lead 2-0 with a goal in the 56th minute. A few minutes later, the Eagles’ Nick Patterson scored on a rebound, making the score 3-0.
Teddy Mulamba scored the only goal of the game for the Ospreys off an assist from Haeussler. Patterson scored his second goal of the night, making the final score 4-1.
The Ospreys conclude their disappointing season 1-15-0 overall and 0-8-0 in the Atlantic Sun.
