UNF athletic director Lee Moon announced Nov.29 that the department will not be renewing head volleyball coach Kevin Campbell’s contract for the 2012 season.
Campbell has been coaching the Osprey’s for five years and coached the team to a 14-17 overall record and a 5-8 conference record this past season. The team reached the Atlantic Sun conference playoffs for the second straight season.
In her tenure Campbell held a 48-104 overall record (23-51 in the A-Sun). This past season was the best overall for Campbell at UNF. In her first season in 2007 the team finished with a 4-26 record.
Campbell will leave behind a team that will include standout outside hitters Paige Pridgeon and Anna Budinska, plus newcomer setter Casey Giovanazzi.
The 2012 team will not lose any players from the 2011 team, but will hold six seniors including Pridgeon, middle blocker Dagnija Medina, and libero Nicole Baran.
Neither coach Campbell nor the athletic department could be reached to comment on the matter.
