The UNF women’s basketball team split a pair of close home conference games Jan. 12 and 14 and now will turn their attention to a road swing against Atlantic Sun foes.
The team defeated East Tennessee State University 70-67 Jan. 12. The Ospreys committed a costly turnover in the waning seconds, which ultimately led to the winning jumper for the University of South Carolina Upstate Jan. 14. UNF fell to the Spartans 58-57.
UNF can take positives out of its past two performances when it begins a two-game road swing through Georgia.
Kennesaw State awaits UNF Jan. 19. In their two match-ups last year, the teams both defended their home courts. The second game of the Georgia swing will pit the Ospreys against the struggling Mercer Bears Jan. 21. The Bears are currently 3-15. UNF is currently tied with Kennesaw State for fifth place in the A-Sun standings.
