Student Body President Joseph Turner will not seek re-election over summer term, according to a Jan. 28 press release.
According to his statement, Turner’s decision came after accepting an internship for Summer 2015 because he felt he would not be able to serve both positions in full capacity.
“I feel it is unethical to be a part-time president and unfair to my fellow students that I work so hard to serve,” Turner said. “I am proud of the accomplishments Student Government has made during my time in office and I look forward to using the remaining months of my term to continue giving students the results they deserve.”
Turner will hold a press briefing about his decision on Jan. 30.
