The UNF men’s basketball team (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season to Louisville (3-0) in the first game of a 4-game road trip on Nov. 21.

UNF entered the game with confidence after a 3-0 start, including an upset win over Illinois on Nov. 13, and the Ospreys started strong.

UNF kept it close with the Cardinals in the first half, with the Ospreys down by 2 at halftime trailing 43-41. The Ospreys’ strong start was largely due to efforts from guard Dallas Moore and guard/forward Beau Beech, scoring 14 and 13 points respectively in the half.

In the second half, the Ospreys’ hopes for victory fell apart as Louisville outscored them 46-20, giving the Cardinals the 89-61 win. Louisville guard Damion Lee led all scorers with 24 points.

Moore and Beech were slowed down for the rest of the game after a hot first half. Moore finished with 21 points and Beech scored 18 points.

The Ospreys continue their road trip to face St. Louis on Nov. 24.
