No. 7 Florida State University earned a lopsided win over North Florida with a score of 95-39.
Low scoring really hindered the Ospreys. UNF’s (6-7) starters only combined for 32 points while FSU’s (11-1) combined for 69 points.
Only two North Florida players had double-digits in scoring. Junior guard Sierra Shepherd netted a team-high 12 points, and senior Claire Ioannidis scored 11 points.
Five Seminoles scored in the double-digits. UNF had a 24.6 field goal percentage, while FSU shot 52.1 percent.
No one stat cost the Ospreys the win. UNF was outscored in the paint by 30 and the FSU bench outscored UNF’s by 19.
Turnovers have plagued the Ospreys all season. North Florida combined for 28 turnovers, and Florida State turned those into 34 points.
Next UNF looks to bounce back during the Best Western UNF New Year Classic against Wofford in the UNF Arena on Dec. 30. Tip off is at 3 p.m., and the admission is free.
