UNF President John Delaney

UNF President John Delaney will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by OneJax at their annual Humanitarian Awards.

OneJax is a nonprofit organization that promotes racial, religious and cultural tolerance throughout Northeast Florida. According to the organization, the Lifetime Achievement Award honors people who have “demonstrated personal and professional integrity, have given generously and extensively to our community and have been dedicated to the improvement of human relations among diverse groups in our community.”

Nominees for the awards are selected by the community, and then reviewed by the board members and former honorees of OneJax.

“I hardly think of myself as a humanitarian, especially compared to the few previous winners,” said UNF President John Delaney. “I suppose it’s more a reflection of my love for Jacksonville and a desire to help people when I can. I’ve been blessed with three very public careers, and any one of those would have been sufficient for me to feel fulfilled.”

The award ceremony will take place on April 12 at the Prime Osborn III Convention Center.
