Presidential Search Update: Committee interviews two more candidates

This morning, the Presidential Search Committee interviewed two more candidates hoping to take over current UNF President John Delaney’s seat following his retirement on May 31.

Interview with Kevin Carman

Kevin Carman, who is currently the executive vice president and provost of University of Nevada Reno, was interviewed between 8:00 and 9:15 a.m. During the interview, he expressed his wish to enrich the students at the University of North Florida. Every answer Dr. Carman gave related to the impact on students. His work ethic and values are based in relationships and interaction with the community of the university’s behalf.

Interview with Irma Becerra

Irma Becerra, who is currently the provost and chief academic officer at St. Thomas University, was interviewed from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Dr. Becerra’s interview answers gauged her vision on putting the University of North Florida into the community with ties to careers, internships, research, and economic and service engagement opportunities. She is ready to provide connections to regional operations to achieve these goals. Dr. Becerra is ready to jump on programs that exist at UNF and create initiatives to get UNF to where it needs to be in the future.
