UNF student Frank German drafted by Yankees in fourth round of MLB Draft

Hot off the heels of his best career season at UNF, starting pitcher Frank German was drafted by the New York Yankees on Tuesday.  German was drafted by the Yankees in the fourth round, as the 127th overall pick. This past season, he led the Atlantic Sun Conference in regular season ERA (1.43), was named First Team ASUN All-Conference, pitched two complete games and was nominated as a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, given to the best amateur baseball player in the United States.

This marks the fourth time an Osprey has been drafted in the top five rounds. German is also the second player from the ASUN to be drafted this year. Logan Gilbert, a pitcher for Stetson, was selected with the 14th overall pick to the Seattle Mariners.

UNF student-athlete Frank German was named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award.
