Over the weekend, both mens and women’s soccer teams struggled to find success at home.

The Ospreys lost a 2-0 bout to Appalachian State on Sunday night

The Women’s Soccer team picked up their first victory of the season on Sunday against UNC AshevilleOver the weekend, both mens and women’s soccer teams struggled to find success at home.

The weekend kicked off with the women hosting the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in their first match of the weekend. Middle Tennessee would go on to a commanding win, 2-0. The Ospreys, would get another chance to end their week in their second game against the UNC Asheville Bulldogs. The Ospreys were able to exercise their will against the Bulldogs and came out with win, defeating UNC Asheville, 1-0 on a late goal by Junior midfielder, Brandi Walker.

This weekend was also the Men’s turn to rack up some wins in their record. They hosted the Mercer Bears in game one of the Mike Gibbs Invitational. After an early goal by Junior midfielder, Mikey Connell, the Ospreys struggled to find the net and were defeated, 2-1. The Ospreys remained at home to take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers in game two of the invitational. The Ospreys were in for a rough night and lost, 2-0.

The women will remain home to take on the Winthrop Eagles on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m., while the men will hit the road and battle the Georgia Southern Eagles on Aug.31 at 7:30 p.m.
