The University of North Florida has advanced communications alum Christopher Warren to executive director in the Office of the President and University Relations. He will assume his duties effective immediately, according to the University.

The University’s community and business relations will now be led by Warren. Additionally, he will be in charge of enhancing UNF students’ cultural experiences with the University, advocating support for governmental initiatives at the local and state levels, and leading/directing initiatives for President Szymanski. Warren will also serve as an incident command liaison officer on the University’s Crisis Management team.

Warren was previously the director of Governmental and Community Relations in 2015. While in this position, he “served as a lobbyist to identify legislative, regulatory and political opportunities that would advance or defend the University’s interest at local, state and federal levels,” the University explained in a press release. While lobbying, Warren was able to retain and expand “$111 million of the University’s budget through the state’s appropriation process.”

Warren has also been recognized in several publications including Jacksonville Business Journal and BUZZ Magazine. He also is an active member in the community and serves as an Editorial Board Member for The Florida Times-Union.

“We’re excited to have Chris take the lead in University strategic initiatives in the President’s Office as well as having him work to enhance the student experience at UNF,” President David Szymanski said.
