The gates have been opened on Oct. 1 for students to apply for the Free Application For Student Aid for the 2019-2020 academic year, but this time it comes with a twist.

This year, FAFSA introduced an app on mobile devices (iOS and Android) in which students can complete their financial aid straight from their phone: myStudentAid. FAFSA says they believe this will allow students to “complete the FAFSA form on a mobile device with the same ease as on a desktop or laptop computer.”

FAFSA gives you access to federal grants, loans and work-study opportunities, so it’s important to fill it out in a timely manner, according to the website. FAFSA’s website also states that the deadline for Florida students to complete the form is May 15, 2019 for the 2019-2020 academic year.
