$30,000 was granted to UNF LGBT Resource center from the LGBTQ Community Fund for Northeast Florida to make the Jacksonville community more inclusive, according to the press release.

The school’s resource center will use the grant to conduct a review of programs which will help them learn how to better serve the community on campus. The grant money will be used to research the LGBT Resource Center’s impact on campus, recruitment for the group, retention and its success on campus. The center also plans to hire an external reviewer and consultant and a graduate student to assist in conducting this work.

The LGBTQ Community Fund of Jacksonville recently awarded $130,000 to serve the LGBT community and to make the city of Jacksonville more inclusive. $30,000 of that was granted to UNF’s LGBT Resource Center.

“This generous grant will help our Center tell the story of our life-changing work,”  said UNF LGBT Resource Center Director Kaitlin Legg. “The Center plays an important role in not only attracting talented and diverse students to the University but promoting an atmosphere where LGBTQ students achieve healthy, fulfilled lives.”
